Whooaa… Salah satu lagu Paramore yang paling saya suka. Dan saya adalah salah satu penggemar maniak Paramore. Paramore grup musik/band asal Amerika Serikat yang terbentuk pada tahun 2004. Grup musik ini bermarkas di Franklin, Tennessee. Anggotanya berjumlah 5 orang yaitu Hayley Williams, Josh Farro, Jeremy Davis, dan Zac Farro. Album pertamanya ialah All We Know Is Failling dirilis pada tahun 2005. Namun 2010 lalu, Farro Bersaudara (Zac dan Josh Farro) keluar dari Paramore.

Sejarah terbentuknya Paramore

Sejarah terbentuknya Paramore

Paramore merupakan sebuah grup musik asal Amerika Serikat yang dibentuk pada tahun 2004. Grup musik ini berasal di Franklin, Tennessee. Anggotanya berjumlah 5 orang yaitu Hayley Williams berperan sebagai vokal, Josh Farro berperan sebagai lead gitar, Jeremy Davis berperan sebagai bassis, Taylor York berperan sebagai ritem gitar dan Zac Farro berperan sebagai drummer. Album pertamanya ialah All We Know Is Falling dirilis pada tahun 2005. Dan album kedua yaitu RIOT! pada tahun 2007. Mereka juga ikut berpartisipasi dalam Soundtrack Album TWILIGHT pada tahun 2008 dengan menyumbang 2 lagu, "Decode" dan "I Caught Myself". Lagu "Decode" menjadi nominasi di MTV movie awards untuk kategori "Best Soundtrack". Mereka juga merilis DVD THE FINAL RIOT! tour pada tahun 2008. Pada tahun 2009, mereka juga merilis album baru mereka yang berjudul "brand new eyes" pada tanggal 29 September 2009 yang bertepatan pada ulang tahun gitaris mereka, Josh Farro.

2005-2006: All We Know Is Falling

Album pertama mereka berjudul All We Know Is Falling dan dirilis pada Juli 2005. Dari album ini mereka merilis 3 single, yaitu: Pressure, Emergency, dan All We Know. Meskipun begitu, album ini dibuat tanpa kehadiran bassist Jeremy Davis. Hal tersebut dikarenakan tepat sebelum proses rekaman, Jeremy memutuskan untuk keluar dari band. Oleh karena itu, album ini dirilis dengan hanya 4 personel yang dikreditkan. Sebenarnya kepergian Jeremy memberikan dampak yang besar pada Paramore saat itu, dan hal tersebut menginspirasi Hayley untuk menulis lagu All We Know, dimana di dalam lagu tersebut berisi baris "All We Know Is Falling". Di album ini juga terdapat lagu Conspiracy, yang merupakan lagu pertama yang ditulis bersama oleh semua personel. Pada lagu "My Heart" terdapat satu-satunya scream dari Josh Farro sebagai backing vocal.
Selama tour AWKIF, Paramore merekrut John Hembree sebagai bassist untuk tour. Walapun begitu, tidak lama kemudian Jeremy kembali bergabung dengan Paramore sebagai bassist tentunya. Ketika Paramore merilis Emergency sebagai single kedua dari album ini, Jason Bynum sudah tidak lagi berada di Paramore dan digantikan oleh Hunter Lamb. Pada tahun 2007, Hunter Lamb juga memutuskan untuk keluar dari band untuk menikah.

2007-2008: Riot! dan proyek lain

Dengan beranggotakan 4 orang, Paramore merilis album kedua mereka yaitu Riot! pada Juni 2007. Dari album ini mereka merilis 4 single: Misery Business, Hallelujah, Crushcrushcrush, dan That's What You Get. Single pertama mereka, Missery Business, menerima kritik positif dan menjadi hits secara instant, membuat nama Paramore semakin melejit.
Selama tour Riot!, mereka merekrut teman lama mereka, Taylor York, sebagai gitaris tambahan untuk tour. Pada Februari 2008, Paramore membatalkan 6 konser mereka di Eropa untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan internal yang menyelimuti band. Dibawah semua tekanan itu mereka merilis single That's What You Get pada Maret 2008. Namun, setelah sepertinya menyelesaikan permasalahan internal band, pada Mei 2008 Hayley menyatakan bahwa Paramore akan berada pada tour The Final Riot!. Di tour ini, mereka merekam konser mereka untuk membuat sebuah album live bernama "The Final Riot!" yang dirilis pada November 2008.
Pada Oktober 2008 Paramore merilis sebuah single berjudul Decode yang diambil dari OST. film Twilight Saga. Mereka berkontribusi memberikan 2 lagu pada OST tersebut yaitu Decode dan I Caught Myself. Pada bulan November, video klip dari Decode memulai pemutaran perdana. "Decode" dibawah nama film Twilight membawa Paramore semakin terkenal, terutama di kalangan remaja putri penggemar film drama. "Decode" menjadi nominasi di MTV movie awards untuk kategori "Best Soundtrack".

2009-2010: Brand New Eyes dan kepergian Farro bersaudara

Pada tahun 2009, Paramore merilis album ketiga mereka yang berjudul "Brand New Eyes" pada tanggal 29 September yang bertepatan pada ulang tahun gitaris mereka, Josh Farro. Pada album ini, Taylor York telah menjadi anggota tetap Paramore, sehingga kali ini mereka merilis album dengan personel 5 orang. Paramore menyatakan bahwa album ini telah mempererat hubungan mereka sebagai band, setelah sebelumnya sempat terjadi keretakan. Untuk itulah mereka memberi nama album ini "Brand New Eyes" yang menggambarkan sudut pandang baru dari setiap personel. Dari album ini mereka merilis 5 single: Ignorance, Brick By Boring Brick, The Only Exception, Careful, dan Playing God.
Pada 18 Desember 2010, melalui situs resmi Paramore, mereka menyatakan bahwa kakak-beradik Josh Farro dan Zac Farro resmi keluar dari Paramore. Hayley mengatakan bahwa belakangan ini mereka sudah merasa tidak bahagia di Paramore. Namun dengan jumlah personel 3 orang, Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis, dan Taylor York menyatakan untuk tetap melanjutkan apa yang telah mereka jalani selama ini. Pada 22 Desember, Josh, melalui sebuah blog kontroversial, menceritakan versinya sendiri tentang alasan dia dan adiknya keluar dari Paramore.

2011-sekarang Paramore tanpa Farro bersaudara

Pada tanggal 10 Januari 2011, dalam sebuah wawancara dengan MTV, Hayley Williams mengatakan bahwa meskipun band kehilangan dua dari anggota pendiri, mereka akan merilis musik baru pada 2011, meskipun belum diketahui apakah mereka akan berhasil merekam full album untuk rilis tahun ini, atau hanya rilis beberapa lagu. Mereka juga mengaku bahwa gaya Paramore adalah mungkin untuk mengubah dengan lineup baru, tetapi menjelaskan bahwa band masih akan mempertahankan suara mereka.
Pada tanggal 2 Februari, 2011, Josh Farro dikonfirmasi nama band barunya, Novel American.Zac juga telah menegaskan band barunya, Half Noise.
Pada tanggal 21 Maret 2011, Paramore menyatakan pada berbagai laporan mereka di jejaring sosial bahwa mereka memasuki sebuah studio di Los Angeles dengan produser Rob Cavallo untuk merekam album mereka berikutnya. Pada tanggal 7 Juni 2011, Paramore merilis singel "Monster", masuk dialbum Transformers: Dark of the Moon – The Album. Ini adalah lagu pertama yang driilis band tanpa Farro bersaudara.
Pada tanggal 9 Juni 2011, Hayley Williams mengumumkan bahwa band mulai menulis album keempat mereka, yang mereka berharap untuk mulai merekam pada akhir tahun, berharap untuk rilis di awal 2012. Paramore sempat konser di Bali dan Jakarta pada tanggal 17 dan 19 Agustus 2011 dengan membawakan 18 lagu.

Kaejayaan SAF di Manchester United

Awal Kejayaan Sir Alex Ferguson di Manchester United

Musim 1989/90, Ferguson kembali mendatangkan pemain baru ; Paul Ince, Mike Phelan, Neil Webb dan bek Gary Pallister. Pada awal musim United berhadapan dengan juara bertahan Arsenal dimana Setan Merah berhasil menang 4-1 namun performa United menurun dan setelah kekalahan memalukan 5-1 dari rival sekota Manchester City, spanduk yang meminta Fergie untuk mundur mulai bermunculan di Old Trafford. Fergie sendiri menggambarkan bulan Desember 1989 adalah "masa-masa tergelap selama kariernya dalam dunia sepak bola" dimana United manjadi salah satu calon klub yang akan mengalami degradasi dari Liga Inggris. Dewan direktur klub tetap mempercayai Fergie sebagai manajer. Mereka bisa mentoleransi penampilan buruk klub karena beberapa pemain kunci cedera dan mereka juga puas atas peran serta Ferguson yang mengubah sistim pelatihan dan pencarian bakat di United. Kepercayaan dewan direksi klub dijawab Ferguson dengan kemenangan 1-0 pada final replay Piala FA melawan Crystal Palace yang saat itu diperkuat oleh Ian Wright. Raihan trofi ini adalah yang pertama untuk Fergie selama menangani United dan disebut-sebut sebagai trofi penyelamat kariernya di MU. Pada awal musim 1990/91 Fergie mendatangkan kiper asing dari Denmark, Peter Schmeichel untuk mengawal gawang United dan Andrei Kanchelskis untuk mengisi pos sayap kanan. Raihan trofi pertama membuat para fans berharap banyak pada musim berikutnya 1990/91, dimana sekali lagi United menghadirkan performa impresif ketika mengalahkan Arsenal di Highbury, 6-2. Namun performa yang kurang konsisten membuat United menderita kekalahan dari klub gurem Sunderland, Liverpool juga mengalahkan mereka 4-0 di stadion Anfield diikuti kekalahan dari klub sekota Liverpool, Everton di Old Trafford, 2-0. Kekalahan melawan Everton ini merupakan debut dari sayap kiri muda yang fenomenal, Ryan Giggs di tim utama setelah dipromosikan oleh Fergie dari skuad junior mereka. Performa inkonsisten mereka di Liga Inggris ternyata tidak berpengaruh pada penampilan mereka dalam ajang eropa. United melaju hingga partai final yang mempertemukan mereka dengan FC Barcelona dalam ajang Piala Winners dimana Setan Merah mengalahkan wakil Spanyol itu 2-1. Sayangya United kembali mengalami kegagalan pada musim berikutnya, walaupun sukses dalam ajang Piala Liga dan Piala Super Eropa, United gagal mempertahankan performa mereka dalam kompetisi domestik. Setelah gagal merekrut Alan Shearer, United mendatangkan striker Dion Dublin pada musim panas 1992. Penampilan sayap kiri muda Ryan Giggs semakin impresif setelah Fergie melepas Lee Sharpe, yang berposisi sama dengan Giggs, pada musim 1990/91 . Dengan skuad yang ada saat itu, fans United mulai yakin akan performa Setan Merah dalam meraih trofi pertama mereka sejak musim 1966/67. Setelah performa buruk pada paruh pertama musim (peringkat 10 dari 22 klub), Fergie mendatangkan pemain baru pada Januari 1993, Eric Cantona (yang menjuarai Liga Inggris musim sebelumnya bersama rival United, Leeds United) sebesar £1.2 Juta. Penampilan Cantona bersama Mark Hughes di lini depan dan mental juaranya yang kental, langsung berimbas pada performa United secara keseluruhan yang langsung melejit memuncaki daftar klasemen dengan keunggulan 10 poin dari peringkat 2 Aston Villa dan akhirnya menjadi juara Liga Premier Inggris yang pertama kalinya. Ini juga trofi Liga Inggris yang ke 8 sepanjang sejarah klub dan menjadi trofi Liga pertama untuk Fergie sejak ia datang sebagai manajer United pada 1986. Musim 1993/94 Ferguson memperkuat skuad United dengan mendatangkan gelandang emosional, Roy Keane dari Nottingham Forest sebesar £3.75 juta sebagai calon pengganti kapten United saat itu, Bryan Robson yang mulai memasuki masa pensiun. United langsung memimpin klasemen liga dari awal musim sampai akhir musim 1993/94. Cantona menjadi pencetak gol terbanyak dengan 25 gol. (Walaupun 2 kali terkena kartu merah dalam jangka waktu 5 hari). Fergie juga memimpin United tampil dalam final ajang Piala FA dengan mengalahkan Chelsea 4-0. Ini merupakan gelar double pertama di United setelah dulu pernah mencapai prestasi serupa di Aberdeen.

Dalam logo ini, gambar yang ditonjolkan adalah binatang. Binatang tersebut berada disisi kiri dan kanan. Berdasarkan sejarah, kedua binatang yang tertera di logo tersebut adalah seekor singa dan seekor binatang mirip kuda. Maksud dari gambar kedua binatang tersebut kurang lebihnya Manchester United dapat bermain cepat seperti larinya kuda dan garang seperti singa. Tujuan utama tentunya meraih kemenangan. Gambar perahu sudah ada dalam logo generasi pertama yang menandakan bahwa Manchester United terletak di sebuah kota pelabuhan.

Dalam logo ini, masih tetap menonjolkan gambar binatang. Hanya saja ada sedikit penambahan pada ornamennya. Itu di maksud untuk menambah keindahan dan daya tarik. Gambar perahu masih tetap ada. Tulisan latin yang berbunyi “ Concillo et Labore “ lebih ditekankan. Dalam bahasa Inggris, tulisan tersebut merupakan “ Wisdom and effort “ artinya Kebijaksanaan dan Usaha.
Maksudnya, klub tersebut diharapkan dalam mencapai segala usaha untuk kejayaan klub di lakukan dengan cara bijaksana. Logo ini merupakan logo lama dan diperkenalkan pada era 1940an

Di era ini, logo telah berubah secara drastis. Gambar dua binatang yang ada di logo lama kini tidak ada lagi. Logo ini lebih sederhana dan warna merah yang merupakan warna dominan Manchester United lebih ditonjolkan. Satu lagi gambar perahu masih tetap ada. Dan itu tak akan pernah dihilangkan sampai kapanpun. Itu merupakan rasa cinta terhadap daerahnya. Gambar logo di buat lebih modern dan tidak ada bentuk aneh dan rumit pada logo sebelumnya. Tulisanpun telah di ganti dengan nama club Manchester United Football Club. Ini mengindikasikan bahwa Manchester United telah menjadi klub profesional. Logo ini diperkenalkan di era 1950an sampai 1960an

Di era Sir Matt Busby, manchester United mendapat julukan “The Red Devils” alias setan merah. Julukan ini melekat bukan tanpa sebab, melainkan berdasarkan fakta di lapangan. Saat itu Manchester United merupakan tim yang permainannya paling jago. Ciri khasnya adalah garang dan kemenangan selalu diraih. Bukan hanya itu saja, Manchester United juga sering meraih gelar juara baik di piala FA maupun di Liga Inggris.
Maka, pantas julukan setan merah melekat di Manchester United. Untuk lebih menguatkan julukan tersebut, gambar setan mulai terpampang di logo Manchester United. Gambar Setan dengan memegang trisula tersebut terpampang di tengah logo. Era tersebut disebut era kedatangan Red Devils, dan itu terjadi pada tahun 1973-1988. Tulisan yang tertera berbunyi Manchester United Football Club masih sama dengan era sebelumnya.

Jika ditelusuri dari awal, julukan Manchester United sejak era Newton Heath selalu berhubungan dengan sesuatu yang seram. Julukan Newton Heath adalah The Heathen yang secara literer berarti Kuburan.
Adalah Sir Matthew Busby yang mengusulkan penggunaan logo devil di crest United. Logo itu diperoleh dari klub rugby Salford yang berkostum merah dengan lambang Devil sebagai crest nya. Sir Matthew merasa julukan Setan Merah lebih terdengar garang ketimbang Angelic Babes yang sempat dijadikan julukan United pasca tragedi Munich. Pada tahun 1970 crest United berganti dengan tambahan logo setan di bagian tengah.
Dengan permainan hebat, ditambah legenda Tragedi Munich dan logo setan sebagai crest, maka pelan tapi pasti julukan Unitedpun berubah menjadi Setan Merah.

Ini merupakan perubahan logo Manchester United yang terakhir. Logo ini memang sengaja diperkenalkan karena Manchester United telah berbentuk Plc atau sudah menjadi perusahaan go public. Dalam hal ini, orang luar boleh membeli saham Manchester United dan turut dalam jajaran kepemilikan Mancheste United.
Manchester United sendiri terdaftar go public sejak 1991.
Logo anyar ini baru diperkenalkan pada tahun 1998. Bedanya tidak mencolok. Ciri khas Manchester United dengan gambar perahu tetap ada. Warna dominan masih merah dan gambar setan juga terpampang dengan jelas. Perubahan yang terjadi hanya pada tulisan. Yang sebelumnya tertulis Manchester United Football Club, kini berganti Manchester United saja. Logo tersebut lebih sederhana dan gampang dikenali. Arti Kapal Yang Terdapat Di Logo Manchester United

Logo Manchester United memang paling tidak sudah berganti tiga kali sejak tahun 1960-an. Uniknya, dari semua logo itu, selalu ada gambar kapal di bagian puncaknya. Gambar kapal dengan empat layar itu menggambarkan Kanal Manchester, jalan air yang dibangun untuk membebaskan kota Manchester dari ketergantungan pada pelabuhan Liverpool.Sejak pertengahan abad ke-19, Manchester tumbuh pesat sebagai kota industri. Populasinya melonjak dari 322.000 jiwa pada 1801 menjadi lebih dari sejuta jiwa dalam 50 tahun. Perkembangan pesat Manchester tidak hanya disokong oleh industri katun Lancashire, tapi juga perkembangan industri manufaktur, permesinan dan tekstil.
Tak punya pelabuhan laut membuat aktivitas ekspor-impor Manchester harus dialirkan melalui rel kereta api atau jalan darat menuju pelabuhan Liverpool. Kota Manchester akhirnya memutuskan untuk membangun sendiri dermaga yang punya akses langsung ke laut. Maka, pada tahun 1887 hingga 1894 dengan biaya mencapai 15 juta poundsterling, dibangunlah Kanal Manchester yang panjangnya mencapai 58 kilometer.
Sejak saat itu, penduduk Manchester merasakan kemakmuran karna dibangunya dermaga dan kanal tersebut. Bahkan, sejak saat itu pula lambang dewan kota Manchester diubah, ditambahi kapal layar megah yang sedang melaju di Kanal Manchester. Lambang klub sepak bola Manchester United pun yang dihiasi kapal berlayar empat hampir dipastikan terinspirasi oleh kejayaan kota manchester yang berubah menjadi kota yang maju sejak dibukanya kanal dan dermaga di kota tersebut.

8 BANDAR UDARA TERUNIK DAN BERBAHAYA DI DUNIA

Kebanyakan airport dibangun dengan memenuhi standart keamanan dan kenyamanan. Hal ini dikarenakan Airport ataupun bandar udara merupakan fasilitas yang penting dalam berhubungan internasional. Apalagi demi instannya sebuah perjalanan yang cukup jauh. Namun tahukah anda ternyata di belahan dunia lain ada bandar udara yang diciptakan dengan berbagai bahaya yang ada.

1. Lukla di Nepal

Bandara udara ini terletak di Kota Lukla di Nepal timur. Salah satu spesifikasi airport ini adalah adanya ujung lintasan yang ditutupi gunung yang berketinggian 2900 meter. Sehingga ada kemungkinan pesawat menabrak dan hancur

Pada bulan Januari 2008, pemerintah Nepal mengumumkan bahwa bandara akan diganti untuk menghormati Sir Edmund Hillary, orang pertama yang mencapai puncak Gunung Everest, yang meninggal pada 11 Januari 2008. Bandara ini cukup populer karena di tempat ini kebanyakan orang memulai perjalanan mereka untuk mendaki Gunung Everest.

2. Madeira Airport Portugal

Madeira Airport atau disebut Funchal Airport dan Santa Catarina Airport, adalah sebuah bandar udara internasional yang terletak dekat Funchal, Madeira. Bandara ini mengontrol jalur keluar masuk domestik dan non domestik.

Bandara ini pernah terkenal karena landasan pacu yang pendek, dikelilingi oleh pegunungan tinggi dan laut, membuat sebuah pendaratan sulit bahkan untuk yang paling berpengalaman pilot. Landasan yang awalnya memiliki panjang 1.400 meter, tapi kemudian diperpanjang lagi 400 meter setelah insiden Air Penerbangan 425 TAP Portugal tahun 1977 dan kemudian dibangun kembali pada tahun 2003, hampir dua kali lipat ukuran landasan, bangunan itu di atas lautan. Alih-alih menggunakan TPA, perpanjangan itu dibangun di atas serangkaian 180 kolom, masing-masing sekitar 70m tinggi.

Untuk pembesaran landasan pacu baru Bandara Funchal telah memenangkan Penghargaan Struktur Posisi, diberikan oleh Asosiasi Internasional untuk Jembatan dan Rekayasa Struktural (IABSE). Penghargaan Struktur Posisi ini dianggap sebagai “Oscar” untuk struktur rekayasa di Portugal.

3. Bandara Internasional Barra

Barra Airport adalah bandara satunya di dunia di mana lahan pesawat di pantai. BRR terletak di di pantai luas Traigh Mhor, di pulau Barra, di Hebrides Luar, Skotlandia. Jika Anda ingin terbang di sini secara komersial Anda bisa menumpang British Airways, yang terbang ke Barra dari Glasgow dan Benbecula.

4.Gustaf III Airport

Gustaf III Airport dikenal juga sebagai Saint Barthélemy Airport adalah airport untuk kepentingan umum yang terletak di desa St Jean di pulau Karibia Saint Barthélemy. Baik bandara dan kota utama pulau itu dari Gustavia diberi nama untuk Raja Gustav III dari Swedia, di bawah Swedia yang diperoleh pulau dari Perancis pada 1785 (itu dijual kembali ke Perancis pada tahun 1878). Bandar udara ini dilayani oleh pesawat komersial kecil regional dan charter. 5. Courchevel Perancis

Courchevel adalah nama sebuah daerah ski yang terletak di pegunungan Alpen Perancis, daerah ski terbesar di dunia terkait. bandara ini memiliki tingkat tertentu keburukan di industri penerbangan yang merupakan airport dengan landasan pacu yang relatif pendek, dengan panjang 525 m (1722 ft) dan gradien sebesar 18,5%. Sangat pendek sekali bukan? disini pesawat yang akan mendarat harus benar benar memperhitungkan keceptan yang cukup untuk pendaratan.

6. Bandara Juancho E. Yrausquin(Saba)

Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport adalah bandara yang terletak di pulau Karibia Saba, di Antilles Belanda. Bisa kita lihat sendiri bahwa bandara tersebut diapit oleh laut dan terdapat pula tebing. Hanya pilot yang handal yang bisa mendarat di sana.

Princess Juliana International Airport melayani route Saint Maarten, yang merupakan daerah bagian Belanda yang terletak pulau Saint Martin. Ini adalah bandara tersibuk kedua di Karibia Timur. Bandara ini terkenal dengan landasan pendek – hanya 2.180 meter / 7152 ft, yang hampir tidak cukup untuk jet berat. Karena itu, pesawat-pesawat yang akan mendarat harus mendekat pulau dan terbang sangat rendah di atas Maho Beach.

Klub ini pertama kali dibentuk dengan nama Newton Heath Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Football Club (Newton Heath L&YR F.C.) pada tahun 1878 oleh para pekerja rel kereta api di Newton Heath.

Mereka bermain di sebuah lapangan kecil di North Road, dekat stasiun kereta api Piccadilly Manchester selama 15 tahun, sebelum pindah ke Bank Street di kota dekat Clayton pada tahun 1893. Kostum tim berwarna hijau emas.

Tim sudah menjadi anggota Football League setahun sebelumnya (1891-1892) dan mulai memutuskan hubungannya dengan stasiun kereta api, menjadi perusahaan mandiri, mengangkat seorang sekretaris perkumpulan, dan menghapus nama belakang "L&YR" menjadi Newton Heath FC saja.

Pada tahun 1902, tim nyaris bangkrut dengan utang lebih dari £2500. Lapangan Back Street mereka telah ditutup. Sebelum tim bubar, mereka menrima investasi dari J.H. Davies, direktur Manchester Breweries.

Awalnya, kapten tim, Harry Stafford, memamerkan anjing St. Bernard miliknya. kemudian, Davies memutuskan untuk membeli anjing itu. Stafford menolak, tapi dia berhasil mempengaruhi Davies untuk menanamkan modal untuk tim dan menjadi chairman tim.

Setelah itu, mereka mengadakan rapat untuk mengganti nama klub. Manchester Central dan Manchester Celtic adalah nama yang diusulkan. Namun, Louis Rocca, seorang imigran muda asal Italia, mengusulkan nama Manchester United.

Usul Rocca pun disetujui dan nama Manchester United resmi dipakai pada 26 April 1902. Davies juga memutuskan untuk mengganti warna tim dari hijau emas menjadi merah putih sebagai warna tim Manchester United.

Pada musim 1905-1906, mereka akhirnya promosi ke Divisi I setelah finish diurutan kedua Divisi II (foto atas). Musim pertama mereka di Divisi I menempati urutan ke-8 di klasemen. Pada akhirnya, mereka memenangkan gelar liga pertamanya pada tahun 1908.

Dua tahun kemudian, mereka memenangkan trofi Liga di Divisi I untuk kedua kalinya pada musim 1910-1911. United pindah ke lapangan barunya di Old Trafford. Mereka memainkan pertandingan pertamanya di Old Trafford pada tanggal 19 Februari 1910 melawan Liverpool.[Wikipedia]
